Refund Policy

This Refund Policy applies to the Pro yearly subscription (€15 / year) of the Quantum Actuarial Science Service, billed through Stripe.

1. 14-day cooling-off period (EU consumers)

If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you have the right under Directive 2011/83/EU to withdraw from this contract within 14 days from the subscription start date, without giving any reason.

To exercise the right, send an email to contact@quantum-actuarial-science.com with the subject line “Withdrawal request” and your account email. We will refund the full amount within 14 days using the same payment method.

By starting to use the Pro features (e.g. running a Pro-only calculation, downloading a Pro-only export), you expressly acknowledge — as permitted by Article 16(m) of the Directive — that digital services delivered immediately may waive the cooling-off right for the consumed portion. We will, however, refund pro-rata for any unused portion.

2. After the cooling-off period

After 14 days, the Pro subscription is non-refundable. You may cancel at any time via the Manage subscription link in your account page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current 12-month period, during which you retain full Pro access.

3. Exceptional refunds

We may grant a discretionary refund outside the 14-day window in cases of:

4. How to cancel

  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. Go to /auth/account.html.
  3. Click Manage subscription — the Stripe Customer Portal opens.
  4. Choose Cancel subscription. The cancellation is effective at the end of the current period; no further charges will be issued.

5. Chargebacks

If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us first so we can investigate. Filing a chargeback with your bank before reaching out may slow the resolution and lead to immediate suspension of your account pending the dispute outcome.
